Y-SERIES Sensors

Y-SERIES SENSORS Flexible tactile sensors for pressure monitoring on large surfaces

The Tactilus® Y sensor is a flexible surface tactile sensor based on a matrix and fabric structure, a kind of “electronic skin” capable of detecting and interpreting the distribution and intensity of pressure between two contacting surfaces. It is used exclusively for standard Seat and Mattress sensors.

Common applications

  • Design and testing of seats and mattresses: Detection of pressure distribution between the body and the support surface
  • Ergonomic analysis: Study of comfort and interaction between user and padded supports
  • Clinical and biomedical research: Blood pressure assessment in bedridden patients or in prolonged posture
  • Human-machine interfaces: Optimization of pressure at contact points in operational or vehicular environments

Main advantages

  • Flexible and lightweight sensors: Ideal for applications on soft or deformable surfaces
  • Cross-platform compatible software: Windows® (Tactilus Scientific 10,WP2) e iOS (Body Fitter 2.0,WP2) , Android (WP2)
  • Modular structure: Easy to scale, integrate and transport
  • High precision and repeatability: Each sensor is individually calibrated and serialized

The collected data is processed using powerful software available for both Windows® (Tactilus Scientific 10 and WP2) , iOS (Body Fitter 2.0, WP2), Android (WP2) , offering versatile and advanced solutions for a wide range of applications.

Each Tactilus® Y sensor is assembled with the utmost precision, individually calibrated, and serialized. Its modular architecture ensures portability, scalability, and the ability to perform simultaneous measurements from multiple independent sensors.

Tactilus® uses advanced mathematical algorithms to effectively distinguish signal from noise and adopts advanced electronic shielding techniques that maximize the sensor’s resistance to interference, temperature variations, and humidity.
