Our Tactilus PMM system is an Android-based solution that wirelessly communicates with a pressure-sensing mat, providing caregivers with a seamless way to monitor patient movement and prevent pressure ulcers. The mat contains 810 sensing points, which the PMM software captures and transforms into intuitive, colorized images. High-pressure areas appear in red, while low-pressure zones are shown in blue, allowing caregivers to quickly interpret the data at a glance.
The software’s advanced algorithms are designed to distinguish between minor patient movements and actual repositioning events, effectively filtering out noise so caregivers are not burdened with unnecessary alerts. The pressure sensor mat is discreetly placed beneath the mattress cover, remaining completely transparent to the patient. Made from hospital-grade materials, the mat is highly durable and resistant to both incontinence incidents and exposure to disinfectants, ensuring years of maintenance-free use. Its fabric-based sensor enhances breathability and conformability, promoting patient comfort without compromising accuracy.
With Tactilus PMM, caregivers can vigilantly monitor patients and immediately identify if repositioning has not occurred within a predetermined timeframe. This allows for early intervention, which is critical in mitigating the risk of pressure ulcer formation. The system also supports patient education, helping individuals understand their role in the ulcer prevention protocol and encouraging self-vigilance.
The PMM system is equipped with adjustable alarms to notify caregivers when it’s time to reposition a patient or when areas of concentrated pressure could lead to ulcers. Sensitivity settings can be personalized for each patient, minimizing false-positive alerts while ensuring timely and effective care.
